Apply Tag to workspaces

To make it easy to filter workspaces, and also enable cost chargeback scenarios, it should be possible to apply Tags to workspaces.

Status: Planned

We are planning to add workspace-level tags (initally without inheritance to underlying items).

We would like to be able to use tags applied across multiple reports in multiple workspaces as a search function. For example , maybe a user would like to see what has already been developed for "OTIF" reporting. We currently have Global Supply Chain and Regional Supply Chain workspaces where this type of content could be found, it would be a good way to browse what is already existing. The functionality should be similar to the Filter option in the workspace where you can select a tag to narrow your search. This option should be in the main page filter options, currently we only see "Type" and "Owner". Thank you

Yes! Thank you. Workspace initially would be a big help, with hopes for inheritance in the near future. We specifically need to know what company, project, etc. of ours may be spiking in CUs to move them to their own capacity, upskill, or do a charge back if needed (to name a few reasons). Domains won't work for us for this. Thanks!

Hi @CatSmith , you mean in the Home page of Fabric with the PowerBI experience selected? If so, I suggest you create a separate idea for this, as this idea is about Workspace-level tags, and not additional filters for item-level tags.

@KentKMishra happy to hear that!

@amien We're targeting Q1 26' for this feature 🤞

I am very much looking forward to this new feature. How will I know when it has been released in production?
