Anonymous connection to web api reports 'Datasource has no credentials'

"Your data source can't be refreshed because the credentials are invalid. Please update your credentials and try again." Default option is 'Anonymous' Errors with "Failed to update datasource credentials" Works with no issues using Power Bi desktop or Power Query
