Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's

Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

How about to make it possible for "Format Painter" first? Copy&paste visual from one file to another doesn't make very much sense unless they share same data model (with measures used in that visual) Right?

If the Tabular Editor - which is developed by a single person - can easily do this, then I'm sure it's not that hard for the Power BI team to implement!

Copy and pasting between different pbix files would be very helpful. Currently we have to recreate everything in the same pbix. Also sharing differend datasource across pbix would be helpfull for more single consolidated reports when base data models exists already in other reports

Really Microsoft? Qlikview and Tableau have this functionality for a long time now. It shouldn't be difficult if you develop correctly...

Whats the point og having an ideas site with voting? Og guess the intention is to listen to the users, but this issue i sin fact two years old, with over 2600 votes. I have experienced in some other issues a great latency inn replies,if any, from microsoft/power bi team. If you want to engage and interact with your users, please Step ut up

This would be valuable in our business. Merging top-level aspects of multiple pbix files would allow a master/parent pbix but without the fine detail/complexity within its children. For example, an engineering dept, finance dept, purchasing dept could create their own complex pbix but a director could have a parent pbix for top-level KPI’s. I imaging this as analogous to the way Project handles thus equivalent situation.
