Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's

Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

We are excited to announce that this shipped in our November update of PBI Desktop: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste For those asking, it will be included in the next version of Power BI Desktop for Report Server as well.

I and my teammates are trying to make dashboard for our clients. We are using the same dataset. However we found that it is impossible in Power BI Desktop that each person create pages separately and combine everything together. I think if we can work in parallel and consolidate at the final stage, it would be more efficient. it seems that SSRS provides this feature.

Also, to be able to copy pages between pbix files (of course when is the same data source), like in excel

This would be especially useful when you have a standard format as a template (e.g. showing data for section) to apply this to existing PBIX's with a lot of work already done. Right now you have to manually craft it from scratch again 😞

I just encountered this issue trying to copy and image visual and a text box visual from one pbix file to another. I understand that it's more difficult to implement copy/paste for visuals that are tied to data sources and other levels of config, but hopefully it would be easier to add copy/paste for static things like images and text boxes.

It's impossible to merge to pbix... not even copy paste. So yeah, it would be usefule, a lot.

Really frustrating not to be able to do this - especially when two different files are using the same data source. To get the same or similar view into a different PBIX file, you have to recreate the entire thing from scratch.

It would be really helpful and will save a lot of time. Please provide this functionality as soon as possible.

Even if the feature just copied over the chart parameters to the new .pbix file this would be a great feature. In this way, if the table that the chart depends on were missing you would get a error in the data fields. That would be fine, you could just redirect manually. But if the same table exists in both .pbix files you should be able to copy the chart over.
