Allow configurable gap width between columns/bars in all of the Column/Bar Chart types

Without control over spacing of columns and bars, data labels can overlap each other and aesthetically, the chart looks cramped. Please add a configurable spacing parameter like the "gap width" in Excel charts to allow for better visual control.

Under the x-axis card in the formatting pane, you have several settings that can help with this. Minimum category width lets you force the bars to be wider, enabling more readable data labels (but more scrolling). Maximum size lets you increase the percentage of the visual the axis labels will take up, which can make the visual more readable if the labels are long. And finally inner padding controls the gap between the bars in proportion to the bar size. Using a combination of these features to enable to you make the labels on your visuals readable.

This really is useful and won't get the votes because it is a seemingly simple tweak versus a huge new feature. That said it is a significant visual enhancer AND the effort to complete would be small...

This sounds so simple, but it is killing the visual appeal of dashboard to not have this. I find myself overlapping charts continuously to reduce wasted space

Yes, this definitely needs to be done ASAP. It is indeed a small tweak but has huge impacts on visualisation

Please update this! Have ran into this many times. It would be extremely useful to be able to adjust the width of columns. How many votes does it take to get something approved?

Please update! This could also be done in a separate "Classic Column Chart" visual that is non-existent in the Power BI universe (was great in Power View). The current "Clustered Column Chart" is great for 3 or 4 data points broken out by dimension, but terrible for simple comparison of measures against each other with all the extra white space and needlessly cramped data labels. I've searched for hours to find a custom visual or current native visual to give me a simple representation of 3 or 4 measures against one another and I'm baffled that there isn't a good option for something so basic.

We are just using excel. 1 excel tab vs 4 dashboards to display the same data. So much background on the charts it wastes a lot of space that's needed. Plus the bars look out of proportion to the chart size.

This is so basic, it is astounding that it is not possible.
