Currently, when a semantic model has RLS applied, users with Viewer role cannot consume shortcuts to that model. The shortcut breaks and only works if the user has Contributor rights in the source workspace.
This limitation makes it difficult to enforce proper governance, since Contributor rights grant more permissions than needed. Without RLS, Viewer works fine - so this seems to be a gap in the permission model specifically tied to RLS validation.
Request: Please allow Viewers to consume shortcuts to semantic models with RLS applied, without requiring Contributor rights in the source workspace. This would align with least‑privilege access principles and make RLS scenarios easier to manage.
