Allow Report Sharing Without Automatically Exposing the Semantic Model in OneLake Catalog/ Workspace
Currently in Power BI Service, when a report is shared with users - whether via direct access, workspace role, or a Power BI App - the underlying semantic model automatically receives Read permission for those same users. This causes the semantic model to become visible in the OneLake Catalog and the workspace item list, even when the intent is to provide a report-only, read-only consumption experience.
There is currently no native toggle or setting in Power BI Service to share a report while preventing the semantic model from appearing in the user's OneLake Catalog or workspace view - without resorting to complex architectural workarounds.
business users to consume curated reports only, not explore or discover the underlying model.
Any future road map on this requirement.
