Currently, Microsoft Fabric only supports sending alerts (via Teams, email, or other channels) to users who are members of the organization. Guest users - Azure AD B2B external users / guest users - are excluded from receiving these notifications.
This limitation restricts timely communication and collaboration with external partners, vendors, and consultants who actively contribute to analytical projects hosted in Fabric.
We propose extending alert delivery capabilities so that guest users can also receive alerts, whether via Teams notifications, email, or other supported channels. This enhancement would:
Improve collaboration and responsiveness by ensuring guests get notified of relevant data changes or events.
Align guest user experience with that of internal users for alerts and notifications.
Enhance productivity and decision-making in cross-organizational projects.
