Allow Excel slicers to act as a data source for Power Query

It would be great if we could use the selected items in Excel slicers as a data source for Power Query. This would make it easy to use slicers as a way for users to select values to be used as parameters for other Power Query queries.

Having the ability to define slicers as a separate data source to pass back as parameters to the main query would be huge. Similar to SSRS where you can query define available parameter values. Ability to pass (easily) parameters into an excel power query would be huge, and get rid of the stupid native query warning each time I choose a new parameter!

Definitely would be helpful!

So it might open up a lot of opportunities... It even would be more exiting if you would be able to use Power View slicers as well... Just imagine that you can pass parameters to an oData source (maybe something "odd" like SAP HANA) where you pass parameters of what you want to visualize in Power View. This would offload a lot of processing power and save a ton of data transfer time also enabling real-time scenarios...

This would be extremely powerful and would greatly enhance PowerBI

Are the Query Parameter options an option in this scenario?

This would fill an important hole that prevents us from adopting PBI. In order to fine-tune queries and not download the whole universe, we need to show users one or more slicers that help them refine and select what they want to load and analyze. User selections from these slicers then become an input to the queries that populate the data model. The current Parameters functionality is a great step, but it does not provide the desired functionality.
