Currently, when exporting a Power BI Desktop report (PBIX) to PDF using File > Export > Export to PDF, the process generates the PDF automatically and opens it—without prompting the user to save it to a specific location or rename it.
This can be frustrating, especially when:
Users want to name the file before saving
Files are exported to a temporary folder by default
Files get overwritten without warning
Please add a “Save As” prompt when users choose to export a report to PDF. This would allow users to:
Choose a folder/location
Enter a custom file name
Avoid having to move the file after export
Prevent accidental overwrites
Include a setting under File > Options > Export:
Prompt “Save As” on PDF export
This would allow users to turn the feature on or off based on preference.
Thank you for considering this usability improvement!
