Add full formatting capabilities like in MS Excel

Add the ability to change line stroke and column width/gap, change data labels to include category or series names, and anything else related to the formatting of charts and graphs that you find in MS Excel. It's understood that somethings may not be translatable, but more formatting abilities would be great!

Being able to start the x axis on the reference line would ge a great feature. So bars can go both above or below a reference point.

What about formatting tables like we can do in Excel? Here is an idea I have for the UX: http://postimg.org/image/6vy8s9fpz/

Greater flexibility in formatting graphs in Power BI is certainly important. You are get some great looking dashboards but the formatting options for charts is currently very limiting. The same sort of flexibility will be important, especially if Power BI is going to be more integrated with Power Point.

With all the background and transparency formatting options for the canvas and elements it would be imperative to add the ability to format all fonts on the report (axes, table headers, text boxes etc.) Now a great design may have to be totally re-invented just because some fonts aren't visible with dark / gray background.

The inflexibility of formatting is really holding back being able to make attractive reports. Simple things like being able to adjust font sizes of legends are just not there are make presenting professional reports difficult.

Even simple things like getting a legend to text wrap onto a second line is not possible which makes good quality presentation in Power BI a real struggle. Greater control of chart formatting like you have in Excel is a base requirement. Particularly if Power BI is going to integrate into Power Point and Word which I hope is the direction.

'I do appreciate all the new chart types, custom visuals etc. but what I miss the most right now are the BASIC Formatting options for MAIN chart types: - for line charts –possibility to add markers! and control their size, color, shape (dots, dashes etc), , also control the line width, style and transparency - for Column/Bar: possibility to control Columns/Bars Width & Gap. (all the above for Combo chart (Line&Column) of course. Every time that I showcase the tool to newcomers they and they start playing around with the PowerBI they start asking about this basic functionality (basing on their habits from Excel mostly). Having the above it will be fully possible to recreate and follow the elegant esthetic style of visualization gurus like Stephen Few or Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic – which is now very limited.
