Add ability for Excel workbooks to have a live connection to SSAS

At this point, only Excel workbooks with a power pivot data model can work in Power BI. It would be great to have the ability to upload Excel workbooks that are connected to our on-prem analysis services to be refreshable as well. The same way that the analysis services connector works for PowerBI reports, perhaps that connector can be extended to uploaded Excel workbooks as well.

The Enterprise Gateway should allow for Excel connections as well

This is crucial for sharing pivot tables with other users and can help PowerBI be the one stop shop for delivering reports!

Yes is greatly needed for us as well as we use security roles in SSAS Tabular and need those to carry forwards to Excel being published to PowerBI but using SSAS Tabular data sources on prem. (Or give us SSAS Tabular in the cloud and I can publish my Tabular models there, just need SOME way to let Excel published to PowerBI query Tabular data models on demand/refresh on open so security filters work)

I agree this is a MUST HAVE feature to make PowerBI a true enterprise class portal and allow us to get full adoption with our users.
