Currently, Power BI allows semantic models (datasets) to be refreshed daily, weekly, or multiple times per day, but there is no option for a monthly refresh frequency.
For many business scenarios — such as HR, finance, or operational reporting — data is consolidated once per month, and refreshing more often brings unnecessary gateway load, processing costs, and confusion in version tracking.
It would be extremely helpful to have an explicit “Monthly” refresh option in the Workspace > Semantic model > Settings > Scheduled refresh menu, allowing users to schedule a model to refresh automatically every month on a specific day and time (e.g., every 1st day of the month at 6:00 AM).
