Add Search Functionality to Power Query "Queries" Pane
See Attached Image.
Quick Overview
When working on large Power BI models, it’s easy to end up with 50, 100, or even more queries in Power Query. These come from all kinds of sources and transformation steps, and the list gets long fast. At that point, just finding the query you’re looking for becomes a real hassle.
Right now, the only option is to scroll through the list manually—and in big projects, that’s just not practical.
Why This Would Help
-
Models grow quickly: staging queries, reference layers, intermediate logic—all stack up fast.
-
Scrolling through a huge list every time to find a query breaks flow and wastes time.
-
A simple search/filter option in Queries Pane would make it way easier to work efficiently, especially under deadlines.
The Ask
Would love to see a search bar added at the top of the Queries pane in Power Query. Just something lightweight to help quickly jump to a query by name. That’s it—nothing to do with loading data or transformations, purely about improving authoring experience.
I've included a screenshot as well to help visualize the idea.

Anyone that has worked with a large number of queries knows they can quickly become hard to find, especially when data is unfamiliar.
The proposal is to introduce a search bar for Power Query, exactly the same as already exists to search for tables and measures in Power BI Desktop.
Please see image with simple sketch below.

In Transformed data -> left side 'Queries' pane : when we have more than 100 tables, it is difficult to locate a table. By adding a search bar, this will help user to look for table faster.
- jorge-mena_sautNew MemberIt is very simple a search box in the query editor. In our case, we have more than 30 data sources and we need to find them easily. A search box on the top of the queries will be great.
- mail6New MemberSame here. 90 queries in one file. Hard to find anything now...

I always have 30+ queries in my POwerQuery Editor. And its difficult to search the one I need. Can this little search bar be added?

Hi! Like we have a search option in a canvas or reporting area can we get same feature for Power Query? We have a very messy setup and sometimes to identify the tables is tough. Search option at top to find the name of the relevant table would be really helpful.

Currently there are no option to search or sort your queries in Power Query.
If you have ±30 queries in Power Query, then they are added as per the timeline you added them.
I would like the option to search for a specific query and the ability to sort them alphabetically.
Can this option be added?

Ability to search and sort queries in Power Query, as we have no option to search or sort queries in Power Query.
If we have more than one query in Power Query, it's going to be a bit hard.
I would like to have the flexibility to search for a specific query and sort it alphabetically.

Totally agree...

- AVychegzhaninNew MemberCurrently, the usability of the Query Editor interface is low. It is not possible to collapse all the folders in the tree at once. No filter or search in the tree. This is important when there are many data sources (10+) in a report.

Miguel Escobar and I talked about it not that long ago. Is that on the roadmap somewhere? Super useful feature and a basic feature it should have been there from the beginning! avisingh - AnkitKukreja

kirillperian I'm also surprised this is still not available and there are not enough votes on this one. - ofcourseFrequent VisitorAs a Microsoft Fabric and Power BI administrator working, I regularly manage solutions containing hundreds of Power Query objects. A search box combined with folder and label filtering would dramatically improve navigation and maintenance efficiency.
