Description:
Currently in Microsoft Fabric, the email subscription feature can only be enabled or disabled at the organization level. This creates challenges for governance and role-based access control.
Feature Request: Please introduce a new setting: “Apply to Subset of Organization” for email subscriptions.
Use Case: We want to empower developers and report owners to configure email subscriptions for dashboards and reports, while restricting business users from doing so. Business users should consume data directly within Power BI apps to encourage modern data interaction and reduce unnecessary email traffic and report snapshots.
Benefits:
Promotes better data security and control
Encourages interactive usage over static snapshots
Aligns with enterprise governance policies
Reduces email load and potential for outdated report distribution
