Currently, the Power BI Relative Date Slicer and relative date filters only support positive timeframes (e.g., “in the last X days/weeks/months”).
There is no way to directly filter for items older than a specific period (e.g., “older than 4 weeks” or “before the last 3 months”) without using calculated columns or DAX measures.
Why is this important?
For regular business reviews, such as project tracking, invoice aging, or compliance reports, it is critical to easily identify data that is “outdated” or “pending for a long time.”
Having a native option to filter for data older than X days/weeks/months directly in the slicer or filter pane would make reporting much more intuitive and efficient.
Sample use cases:
Show all projects with the last invoice date older than 4 weeks
Find customers not contacted in the last 6 months
List records not updated for over a year
Current workaround:
We currently have to use calculated columns or complex DAX measures, which makes reporting less accessible for users and less maintainable.
Request:
Please add an option to the Relative Date Slicer and filter controls to filter for data “older than” a user-defined period (e.g., “before the last X days/weeks/months”).
Thank you!
