You're able to set these in the Model View properties pane. I see some comments asking for the ability to put *tables* inside display folders. Please add your votes here to support that: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/38593990--display-folders-above-table-level-in-data-model Thanks again for all your support!

Need the ability to group fields into sub folders. This is possible with SSAS multidimensional in Excel, but it is required in Power BI (web and desktop). We are building a complex model with many measures and dimensions, and it is difficult finding fields in the very long list.

In both Power BI Desktop and Web, it would be ideal to be able to utilize the SSAS Display Folders for both measures and attributes when connected to a tabular model. It would improve the user's experience when creating their own reports when the fields are organized in this manner.

In 2016 CTP 3.3 SSAS Tabular can now have display folders. I've been using BIDS helper to do something similar. It would be ideal if PowerBI desktop and PowerBI could show these folders in the UI.

Nothing more true then that 😉

We have models with large numbers of tables and attributes - search helps but grouping in to folders would make things much easier for end users. Also the ability to order attributes other than alphabetically would be great.

I agree. As a work-around, you could create separate Data Sources being sure to include the key/join fields for merging. Business Objects uses Class folders and Subfolders to organizes the fields into.

We have models with large numbers (100+) of fields & measures; which can make it cumbersome to navigate and find the desired field or measure. The ability to group them into a folder structure would make it much simpler to use. This should include the ability to have some fields from one table in one folder, and other fields from the same table in another folder. As a workaround, we have created a pseudo folder structure by splitting what should be single tables into multiple tables with relationships, and created dummy tables for measures, but obviously this is not ideal.
