Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop

I would like to have a Close option in the File Menu that, after a prompt for saving my changes, will open up a "blank" desktop. This will ease the process of starting a new report from scratch.

This is kind of silly to have to close down Power BI, rather than the individual report.

I second this suggestion. It's awkward to CLOSE the entire application simply to start a new analysis in a new file.

It's contradictory to the effeciencies of PowerBI not to have "Close" available. While it is possible to save some time by opening or starting a new file before closing the current one, that is so off the way people, or MS_Office applications work. "I'm done with File A so I will put it away by saving and closing it before I move on to File B. This means I'll wait for the application to shut down so I can open it up again." Really? WTF. Big Frown for no CTRL+X

I have to concur with other feedback. Just starting to learn Power BI Desktop. Former Excel power user and intermediate experience with Cognos, MicroStrategy, and Tableau. I arrived at this site while Googling how to close in Power BI. All I want to do is close my current work and start something new. Assumed there had to be an easier way than closing the application and restarting. Apparently that's not the case.

I agree. No Close option is against most of what is acceptable Windows GUI.

Yes, please add a Close button. Why is there no Close button? Seems silly.

Put this on the KanBan board or what ever sends work to the dev team. This is a no-brainer like the lack of a common inbox with Win10 Outlook.

PBI Team: Are there any plans to add this option?

This has to be an oversight rather than something planned!
