Ability to alert dashboard users when a dataset is updated

I update the data supporting a financial dashboard monthly. I want to have a way to send an 'alerts' email to the people I've shared the dashboard with letting them know that the dashboard has new data in it. Is there any way to push notifications (manually or automatically) to this group all at once?

Don't they get a notification if the content is viewed on a mobile device? I thought this was possible

I've had a request from a customer for this, so they can notify board members ipads when the data-warehouse has refreshed. Currently there are data driven notifications, which I supposed could be hacked to do something similar, but an API that sends a dedicated message would be better as we could trigger it at the end of our ETL process.

Eagerly waiting for this feature because I cannot ask users to subscribe for an 'alerts' but rather I want to create subscriptions for a team alias and send mails periodically or when data is updated or metrics degraded.

What you need to do is go on the report or dashboard via the website and then press subscribe. Then you can set up a subscription which will do what you require.

I'm sending reports to a large group of people in my organization. I cannot sit with each one to show them how to set an 'alerts' and make sure they've all done that. I want to push an email to the entire list each time the report is published to the web service.

I need to be able to notify users that the reports have been updated with current month information. An on demand notification sent by the mobile app would be most useful.
