EventHub Connection is not working with On-Prem Data gateway

Hi Everyone, We are trying to get real time data from EventHub to EventHouse using Get Data feature. Previously with public EventHub we were able to get the data in KQL Table usng this tutorial.

But while creating connection with Private EventHub in Evenhouse's Get Data feature it throws invalid credentials error.

We are using SAS primary key of EventHub (not namespace) with manage permission assigned to it and there is no firewall in between Eventhub and Fabric. It was working fine previously with a public EventHub.

And while creating connection using On-Prem Data Gateway the connection gets created but not available to use.

If anyone can help to solve this issue or suggest some alternatives to fetch data from EventHub

Thanks

Hi @Shuaib24 ,

With my testing, it works. Double-check that the information you fill in for the new connection is consistent with the information in the SAS policy pane.

The relevant consumer group defined in your event hub. For more information, see consumer groups. After adding a new consumer group, you'll then need to select this group from the drop-down.

From your screenshots, you don't seem to have succeeded in creating a new connection, but you add a consumer group to an existing connection, so it shows that the credentials are invalid, can you try to create a consumer group under the option to create a new connection?

Hi @v-tangjie-msft,

Few things i would like to mention here :-

  1. We have EventHub deployed in a VNET with Private Endpoint and public access disabled, So Fabric cannot connect with EventHub publicly.
  2. Secondly, I am using correct SAS policy credentials as per the documentation, I am saying so because i am able to create connection as soon as i enable public acccess on EventHub. It only shows invalid credential error when public access is disabled (that is expected as we want to use on-prem data gateway to connect private Azure PaaS Services). But, the issue came when we create an On-Prem Data Gateway Connection for EventHub.

The connection using on-prem data gateway gets created but not available to use to Get Data in KQL (Following this document ).

So now what issue we are facing is that we are unable to use the EventHub connection created with On-Prem Data gateway to Get Data in KQL and we cannot create a Cloud connection with Private EventHub.

I hope this explain our current scenario. It would be greate if anyone can help to resolve this or suggest some alternatives connect with private eventhub.

Thanks for your time.
