Solved: two questions about the Power BI app

Dear,

There are two question about the Power BI:

1.I can't configure the Datasets (including Gateway connection ,Data source credentials , parameters and scheduled refresh) of the Power BI, even if I'm the administrator, furthermore, i can take over from other administrator. whether these functions authority only can open for one administrator.

2.Whether I can configure the steadfast report URL of the app on Power BI service.

Hi @ziwan ,

Currently the owner of dataset can make these settings, you can take over from the current owner if you are not the owner to set it. You can find the details in the following similar thread.

Allowing non dashboard owners to configure refresh

In addition, I'm not clear about your second question. What steadfast report looks like? Sorry that I'm not faimilar with it. Do you want to add steadfast report URL in report or something else? Could you please provide more deatils on it? Thank you.

Hi @ziwan ,

No, the data will not be deleted. When you take over a dataset, it is required to provide authentication information for all data sources involved in that dataset. After you provide the correct authentication information, you can take over the dataset successfully to make the related configuration. In addition, it is very important that you must have contributor and over contributor roles in the workspace if you want to take over the data set...

No, the data will not be deleted. When you take over a dataset, it is required to provide authentication information for all data sources involved in that dataset. After you provide the correct authentication information, you can take over the dataset successfully to make the related configuration.
