pbiviz Not Working - Can't Interpret the Output

I just downloaded the open source code for the MS Enhanced Scatter visual from github:

I clicked the green Code button, downloaded the ZIP, and extracted it to a local folder, so I can make a few modifications. 

I'm already set up to do custom visual development, and I have a much older version of this code that works fine (meaning I can run pbiviz start, and I can modify the code and test it in the service). But for some reason the version of the code referenced above doesn't work. I get this error: 

When i run pbiviz start, here is the output which I can't really make sense of. 

I did the things with the certificate and localhost/assets -- and again, I can do custom visual development in other projects/folders, but something seems messed up with this particular project.
