The answer I can say is No, However knowledge of Excel can be helpful, as it will give you foundation in working with data and creating the reports.

Few benefits of knowing excel are as below

- Excel can help you learn the basics of the DataAnalysis and Visualization

- Excel can help you learn how to create effective reports

 

So, suggest you to learn basics of Excel in the view of DataAnalysis and Visualization, you don't need to be an expert in Excel
