Use external filter outside of PowerBI embed

Hi,
I have a PowerBI embed inside of my Angular application and I'm wondering if it is possible to have something outside of the embed that is also able to control it. For example, the outside component can be a filter that is able to dynamically list all possible options and when an option is selected, the PowerBI embed will also change. Is this possible?
