Hi Everyone,
I have recently run into an undocumented issue will embedding Power BI reports in Sharepoint Online.
The error states the following:
"An error has occured. Correlation-id: undefined, HTTP-answer: 404. Server Errorcode: Undefined. Message: User not found in pbi global discovery"
Any searches of this error return no solutions or even documentation of the error.
The weird thing is that this only happens to one of our users. Other users, using the same type of email, authentication and way of accessing the reports show no errors and are able to access the reports.
I can also not reproduce this error with any other account.
Has someone else encountered this problem or does anyone know the solution?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Jelle-Scheper ,
Based on your description, it seems that only one user is reporting the error on the screenshot and everyone else is able to view the embedded reports normally in SharePoint. This means that the report itself is fine. Did you embed the report into SharePoint in this way as described in this official document? If so, could you please check if the user with the error message meets the following conditions and if it hits the following limitation, etc? Thank you.
Requirements
For Embed in SharePoint Online reports to work, the following is required:
- A Power BI Pro or Premium Per User (PPU) license or a Power BI Premium capacity (EM or P SKU) with a Power BI license.
- The Power BI web part for SharePoint Online requires Modern Pages.
- To consume an embedded report, users must sign in to Power BI service to activate their Power BI license.
Best Regards
Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately our embedded reports are all in line with the requirements that are stated in the official document.
Every user has a power bi pro license, we use a modern page and licenses are activated.
The user has tried logging in through Safari and Chrome, both return the same error.
Hi @Jelle-Scheper ,
Whether that user has been listed as a member of the workspace within the Power BI service and the SharePoint page? Please find the details in the following official documentation.
By the way, if that user can view other Power BI report in Sharepoint normally? Whether he/she can view the report normally when using Edge browser?
Best Regards
