Hi, pcho
Could you please clarify whether you are unable to open the latest version of the desktop’s PBIX file or the latest version of the desktop’s EXE installation file?
If you are unable to open the latest version of the desktop’s PBIX file:
1.Firstly, we recommend uploading the PBIX file to the service to ensure your report data is not lost.
2.Secondly, delete the original PBIX file and download it again.
3.You may also choose to uninstall the current version and reinstall it, or revert to a previous version to see if this resolves your issue.

4.Next, check for conflicting software: sometimes antivirus software or other security tools may interfere with Power BI Desktop. Temporarily disable such software to see if it resolves the issue.
If you are unable to open the latest version of the desktop’s EXE installation file:
1.Firstly, try running the EXE file with administrator privileges.2. Secondly, try downloading the 64-bit installation package.
Of course, if you have any new ideas, you are welcome to contact us.
Best Regards,
Leroy Lu
