URL based on slicer in the dashboard

Hey guys,

Long story short:

- the dashboard contains a slicer, and we can choose a particular project with it

- there is also an "email" button which's supposed to open Outlook and give some info on the project that we chose via the slicer

- there is a link to the server (not power bi service) which allows a recipient of this email to open the dashboard.

Now to the problem itself:

- I want this URL in the email to open the project report that's been chosen in the slicer.

Example: I choose project #27 - The URL in the email template will help me open this project in the dashboard. project #1? there you go!

thank you!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Maybe email subscription could give you some help.

When creating a subscription for a report, you'll have the option to Include my changes. (This option is not available for dashboards.) When Include my changes is unchecked, Power BI ignores all changes you may have made to the report, and subscribes you to the report as published by the author. When Include my changes is selected, Power BI subscribes you to the report including all changes you've made to the report. This includes:

  • filters (filter pane)
  • slicers
  • personalized visuals
  • cross-filtering or cross-highlighting
  • drill down or drill up
  • bookmarks
  • spotlights
  • focus mode

If you are the author of the report, Include my changes is a great way to create individualized subscriptions for recipients. First, customize your report based on conditions such as country/region, team/department, and category. Then, subscribe colleagues to the customized report views.
