Hi,
For a lineage overview and impact assessments I am looking for a way to extract tables/columns/measures used in thin reports (no data in the report file) in an unattended/programmatic manner. As you know the PBIX is 'binary' but allows you to extract all kinds of files including a layout file which seems to contain most if not all one would need to close this gap.
What I could think of is e.g. with Python iterate through the thin reports, extract the layout file and from that file extract the required info. This in fact is what Power BI helper is doing, but I did not immediately see a way to extract that info from that GUI tool in an automated manner.
Does anyone already have experience with this?
Cheers
Yves
