Sorting by month name in chronological order in a slicer Options

I have Sorting month name in chronological oreder in slicer and chart inside a report and thats work fine that shows month like Jan 17, Feb 17, Mar 17. But in another report thats not working  shows month in alphabetical order. I have used custom column for sorting "sort by column" in my report.

I have seen in Query Editor sorting work fine but in my report view sorting doesnt replicate and shows only alphabetical order.

Please suggest what can I do ?

Is the column of "Jan 17","Feb 17","Mar17" a text column? To avoid such order issue, I'd use a date column and change the format. The column will then always show a chronological order.

For text type, you can custom the sort by checking this thread.
