Problem with the embedded paginated report.

I followed this link (Embed paginated reports in your Power BI embedded analytics application - Power BI | Microsoft Docs)...to embed a paginated report (a drill through report) in our application. But got this error (it doesn't give much of a clue). Anyone seen this? Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks Rico!

Yes, we embedded using app owns data approach, and use service principal, the security group is added to the workspace as the admin.

Do you know if there are ways to get better error info? Thanks for your feedback.

Hi @Anonymous

I think your error should be thrown when you are trying to render a paginated report with inappropriate EmbedToken.

What kind of embedding are you trying, app owns data or user owns data?

If you use app owns data (embeded for customer), please refer to this blog.  You need to create a security group and add service principal as a member in it. Remember to enable the Power BI service admin settings and add the service principal to your workspace.

If you use user owns data, please checked whether your app has the API permission.

For reference: Register an Azure AD application to use with Power BI

Rico Zhou
