PowerBI Embedded with a Gateway

Hi, whilst I've used PBI quite a bit, I'm yet to explore PBI Embedded - but keen to do so at it might well address some of the challenges we currently have with sharing content.

Before I engage with the Dev team (as they own the existing apps), I'm looking into how it all works in a bit more detail.

One question I had, is can this work with an enterprise Gateway, or does your content have to live on Azure already? Whilst some of projects are on Azure, we still have a lot of on-site infrastructure we need to tap into.

And, whilst I'm here (though may be better asked elsewhere), am I right in thinking that you have to load the pre-created PBIX file? My current workslow is to create the model on desktop, load to Service then create the report within the service.

For Embedded, it looks like I'll have to create the report entirely on Desktop, an replicate what I've created on the service.

The legency Azure Service Power BI workspace collections was named as Power BI Embedded, so I guess that you have concern about the legency? As in this case, there's no gateway involved.

At this moment the new replacement is Power BI Embedded capacity-based SKUs. Roughly speaking, using Embedding scenario or not, it only determines where the reports/dashboards are displayed, either in your Own Application or in the Power BI Service portal . There's nothing to change in your current workflow.
