Power BI Web Visuals Not Loading – Works in Desktop, Possible On-Premise Gateway Issue
- 10 months ago
Hi mahekshah,
This usually happens when the dataset isn’t properly mapped to the on-premises data gateway in the Power BI Service. Although the gateway shows “Online,” the connection isn’t configured to match the data source used in your report.Try these quick steps:
- Go to Workspace → Dataset → Settings → Gateway and cloud connections.
- Under Gateway connections, select your active gateway.
- Click Map to data source and make sure the server and database names exactly match what’s in Power BI Desktop.
- Re-enter the credentials if needed (use the same authentication method as in Desktop).
Once the mapping is correct, the “Not configured correctly” message will disappear and your visuals should load normally.
Happy to help!
