Power BI REST API "Try It" no longer allows inputs to be passed
In the Microsoft Learn documentation on REST API end-points, there is a button "Try It" that allows you to issue a request against the corresponding end-point. Previously, you could customize the inputs to pass; for example, for "Datasets - Refresh Dataset In Group", you could choose the reportId, groupId, and datasetId. Now, there's no ability to customize any inputs.
Was this taken away? Can the functionality be restored? Try It is useless if I can't customize the inputs.
Hi Tobiasz ,
I did not find a clearly posted “Power BI Known Issues” public page that lists this specific UI regression in the 'Try It' UI for the REST API documentation.
please consider raising a support ticket for further assistance. To raise a support ticket for Fabric and Power BI, kindly follow the steps outlined in the following guide:
How to create a Fabric and Power BI Support ticket - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Workaround:
as of now we advise to try the APIs using any external API testing tools. For example : Postmanadditionally please refer to below:
