Power BI Gateway with directQuery Mode

should a direct query connection require opening incoming ports to refresh report and Dashboard data using a gateway?

Hi @User12 ,

The gateway does not require inbound ports because it communicates with Azure Relay using outbound connections. The gateway communicates on the following outbound ports: TCP 443, 5671, 5672, and from 9350 through 93541. The gateway doesn't require inbound ports. Please ensure that your firewall allows outbound traffic to the required Power BI service endpoints. These are typically for HTTPS (port 443) traffic.
