Helper IPower BI Embedded in SharePoint Online with different tenant
Hello,
We have SharePoint Online in a different tenant to Power BI. Is it possible to embed a Power BI report from the Power BI Service, into SharePoint online from a different tenant? We are trying to use the OOTB web part, but after entering the report url, the page name never populates nor the display field.
Embedding from the same tenent works OK.
No error, no feedback.

Power BI allows consumers to come from other tenants but all Power BI authoring must take place within a single tenant. If you are embedding a Power BI report using the SPO Power BI web part, you are considered an author. Therefore, you must have a Power BI Pro licenses and the report you are embedding must be in the same tenant.
Is it posisble to create a new app workspace in the SharePoint tenant and publish the report there? It seems that is our only option when using the no-code approach involving the SPO Power BI web part. The only way I can think to embed a report from a different tenant would be to use custom development with Power BI embedding using the app-owns-data model.

Thanks for your reply.
I might code up a custom app / web part using spfx as you suggest. We also want some custom pre-filtering and the app will give us more control over the behavior. There are some good samples on github.
As an aside, I have enjoyed several of your courses over the years (both Critical Path and before) as well as the books - THANK YOU for continuing to support the SharePoint community!

I will be demoing some custom SPFx web parts which implement Power BI embedding next week in a live youtube with Charles Sterling. I will be polishing up my demos this week and should have an SPFx project you can download and run by next week.
