For the customer × product × month layout, Matrix with month columns is the right approach in native Power BI. The setup: Rows = Customer + Product, Columns = Year-Month (as a date hierarchy or concatenated column), Values = your measure.
One thing to be aware of: once published, users can't add or remove columns without you going back to Desktop. If Finance teams need to slice by different time periods themselves, that's where Flexa Tables (AppSource) adds value it lets them restructure the pivot in Power BI Service directly.
