Hi All,
I am relitively new to Power BI. I am currently working on building out a P&L table that can be filtered by customer, revenue segment and quarter, all of this information features within both tables. I have tried to use measures and composite keys to get this to work but nothing is really working so far, the closest I have gotten is below where I have all the lines for the overall but as you can see there is no relationship as there are 4 columns instead of 2:
The data that i have for revenue looks like the following:
And a snippet of the cost data looks like this:
There is also a revenue segment and quarter column earlier in the data:
The Reporting customer and revenue customer are the exact same as well. There is also a date column in the time data as well.
I have worked out the direct, hosting, partner costs based upon the days worked within the category against each customer but also want to have this split by segment and quarter, I have also had trouble with the indirect costs as I am aiming to be able to spread the total of this over each customer/segment and quarter by the % share of the direct days per customer/segment/quarter over the total direct days.
I would like to be able to break the costs data down so the information can be shown like this:
I'm not too sure how to get over this hurdle so any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if any more information is also needed.
Many Thanks,
Charlie
Hi @CharlieSmith212 ,
Could you please provide some raw data in your tables(exclude sensitive data) with Text format and your expected result with backend logic and special examples? It would be helpful to find out the solution. You can refer the following link to share the required info:
How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum
And It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. You can refer the following link to upload the file to the community. Thank you.
