Need help. Not sure if this is the right place to ask

Good morning,

I have a question to you. I am planning to buy a power BI license but I am not sure if this is a right product for me. I will explain you what I am planning to use it for (approximately).
Let’s say I have a website where users can rate cars. Say, you want to rate a Mercedes you recently bought. By going to my website you will see a web-page with a chart on it. The chart will have 3 categories related to the overall car quality : Good, Average, Bad. It will show, for example, that 30 % rated this Mercedes as bad, 30% as average, and 40% as good. Then, you will be able to rate the car too. After you give your vote, I want the chart to automatically update the results to include your rating. So, basically it is a review site (like Yelp) but with charts. These charts will be simple, but there will be many of them (maybe 10,000, maybe 100,000, maybe more).

Is this feasible with power BI?
Thank you and please let me know if you need more details from me.

Hi @jasonadams,

Power BI is absolutely good at creating charts and analysing data. But there could be some aspects you need to consider.

1. In your scenario, you need to embed the Power BI reports (or tiles) into your application. But a Pro license isn't enough in the Product environment. Please refer to embed-sample-for-customers#move-to-production.

2. Power BI can't provide such as buttons and other html elements but charts (visuals).

3. The advantage of Power BI could be it's easy to create charts.

Best Regards,

Dale
