Line chart with Total and Sub categories

Hi,

I am trying to create  a graph where I want to show trend of bugs over the period. Bugs are defined with different types as High, Medium & Low. How do i show all 3 bug types along with Total line as Trend

Something like attached .

Thank you, @lbendlin, for your valuable input on this thread.

Hello @manojk_pbi ,

@lbendlin has suggested a potential solution: creating a stacked area chart. I'd like to offer an alternative approach: you could create a line and stacked column chart with the following field settings (X-axis: [Date]  Column Legend: [Bug type] Column y-axis: [Count of bug]  Line y-axis: [Total]) as illustrated in the screenshot below:

Show them as stacked area chart. Don't include the Total.

Thanks for your suggestion. This will show the total accumulation but uses is more interested to see the total line separately as it was in excel.

Including the same data twice in the same line chart is a design red flag.  Only applicable for visuals that clearly indicate Totals sections like table or matrix charts.
