Jira Issue collector using D3.js custom visual

Hello,

Is it possible to insert other code snippets other than specific D3 code into the d3.js custom visual. Ideally I would like to run a "Jira Issue Collector", which comprises of a short html snippet and a single jquery.ajax function.

I'm not a web-programmer so I'd like to know if it's possible before I knock my head against it, trying to work it out !
