Issue with Microsoft Call Quality (Beta) Not Appearing in Power BI Desktop
Hi all,
I followed the steps to download and set up the Power BI query templates for Microsoft CQD but ran into an issue. Here’s what I did:
- Downloaded the Power BI query templates for Microsoft CQD from GitHub.
- Created a folder under the Documents directory called "Power BI Desktop."
- Created another folder called "Custom Connectors" within the Power BI Desktop folder (Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors).
- Extracted the CQD-Power-BI-query-templates.zip and copied the MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx file into the Custom Connectors folder.
- Opened Power BI Desktop and went to File > Options and settings > Options > Security.
- Under Data Extensions, I selected (Not Recommended) Allow any extension to load without validation or warning.
- After restarting Power BI Desktop, I clicked on “Get Data” and then selected “More.”
However, the Microsoft Call Quality (Beta) option didn’t appear under Online Services. I tried the same process on another computer, and the option was visible there.
Has anyone encountered this issue or knows how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi rupakgautam ,
Here I have a test.
I download the connetcor and copy the .pqx into the Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors
Aslo I select (Not Recommended) Allow any extension to load without validation or warning. and restart the Desktop.
It works.
Please refer to below offical blogs to learn more details:

I had the same problem; all the procedures I saw on the forums didn't work. I found that pausing my firewall (Avast) worked.

Has anyone sorted this out?
I am still having the issue although connector file is in the Document folder.
I tried to copy the connector to "C:\Users\user\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop Store App\CertifiedExtensions" folder where all connectors/extensions are stored > restarted the Power BI app > Get Data, then I see the "Micorsoft Call Quality (Beta)" option. However nothing happen after click Connect, and the "MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx" connector was disappeared from the "CertifiedExtensions" folder. I'm still can't figure out why.
Thanks
