Is power BI using 3.4.4 or 4.0.2?
I am checking this documentation:
Create advanced analytics and visualizations using R scripts - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
Where they confirm: "The version of R deployed in the Power BI service is Microsoft R 3.4.4."
But here it says its not the latest: Installing Microsoft R Open 3.4.4 [Archived Documentation] . MRAN
and it takes me to Installing Microsoft R Open . MRAN (4.0.2)
I want to develop and later be able to deploy it in Power BI Service, so I want to use the same version, shall I use 3.4.4 or 4.0.2?
(My guess is in the very near future Power BI will have 4.0.2 ....)

The version of R package is 3.4.4, you can find the details in this official documentation. If you would like to request support of an R package not found in the list of following link, please submit your request to Power BI Ideas.

I already voted up the idea Microsoft Idea · Export the data into Excel by using R language code, this is working in desktop level not in PBI Service (powerbi.com). The problem is, that this idea has a red "NEED VOTES" label on it... Was created over a year ago, and nothing happened yet. Installing a small package should not be such a complicated task.
When can we expect something to happen in this area?
I looked at the already installed R packages on the Power BI Service platform, and only found a package "gdata" which is able to export csv/text files. I would like to export excel files. For this I would need the previously mentioned "openxlsx" or the "XLSX" package from R.Is there another workaround or package which one can use to export to excel using R in power BI service?
