Hi everyone,
I wonder if anyone have experience with my issue. In my .pbix doc I have used connection MySQL database to get my data, but there is no direct query possibility. So I want to find if there is any way to automate refresh data in .pbix doc without opening doc and clicking on Refresh icon by PBI desktop application?
If someone has such experience I would be happy if you share that.
Thanks in advance!
Hi @VedranR, As per my understanding it's not possible in power BI desktop app to automate the refresh. But you can upload the report on Power BI service and set schedule refresh to refresh the reports manually.
Further you can use power BI desktop developer mode and Git integration in Microsoft Fabric, using which you can sync the report on services and the file on your desktop.
Thanks for the reply from @NandanHegde , please allow me to provide another insight:
Hi, @VedranR
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Regarding the issue you raised, my solution is as follows:
1.Firstly, we recommend uploading your PBIX file to the service for scheduled refresh. This is the most efficient and practical solution provided by the official documentation, and it also facilitates sharing. Here is a screenshot from the relevant documentation:

Unfortunately based on my understanding, it is not possible without opening the pbix file
