Help finding the correct location to save the .pq file

Thank you for this troubleshooting step. I also can't find the Power BI API (beta) from within the desktop app.  So I think the location is not right.  

I have also tried: C:\Users\Default\Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors
I tried the place where I save my reports - a network drive
Lastly, I tried here: 

C:\Users\[my userid]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors

After each time I moved the .mez or .pq, I restarted the desktop application. 
I'm at a loss as to where this file should be placed.

There is no need for guessing. It must go into 

 

C:\Users\[your user id]\Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors

    I wish it were recognized when I put it there.  Neither the Power BI API (beta) (mez) nor the TeamDynamix (.pq) are recognized when those files are in the specified location.
