Give Azure App Registration access to PowerBI workspace

Hi All

I just want to test PowerBI API (need to update dataset parameters via API, without having to open it in PBI desktop) so I am following https://www.vahiddm.com/post/call-power-bi-rest-api-with-power-automate  article

and when I get to the point of giving app registration access to the workspace - it doesnt find any app registrations in "Add people or group"

Any suggections?

Thanks

    Hi kroman ,

Please follow the steps below to grant it the access to the related workspace:

    1. Click "Add people or groups" button

    2. Type the group which you want to grant the access: PowerBI API Connector in the new page, and grant the proper permission to it:

    Best Regards

    Hi kroman ,

If I understand correctly, it seems that you can't find the created service principal in service and grant it the access to the workspace. Am I right?

Could you please help and confirm the following info?

    • Is the app already registered? You can refer this official documentation to register it.
    • Are the registered app and the account you login in Service in the same tenant?
    • Could you please provide the screenshots of app and grant access to workspace?

    Best Regards
