Getting error on report export: Export report requires effective identity to be provided

Hi, PowerBI community!

We are trying to export an embedded PowerBI report but we are getting the following error:

Export report requires effective identity to be provided for the report's dataset

This is our scenario:

• We have a power-bi app set up in our portal.azure.com.
• That app has a correspondent workspace set up in app.powerbi.com.
• We are using the "Reports - Export To File In Group" API endpoint in order to export the report.
• We can export other reports that have their datasets created in the same SQL Server as the power-bi app. But the dataset for the report we can't print has been created in a different SQL Server (will this be an issue?).
• We can use the Bearer Token created for our app to export the reports that have their datasets in the same SQL Server as our app, but when we try to use that same Bearer Token for exporting the report in the other SQL Server, the aforementioned error message is displayed.
• If we use the Bearer Token of the main MS Azure account (the admin-like account that can create power-bi apps), we can successfully export the report that was previously failing. But, I think we shouldn't be using this token, because it's the one that has "admin privileges", as I understand it.

So the question would be:

• What do we need to do in order to use our power-bi app-related token in order to export the report that is failing? Should we modify the token, or should we set up an effective identity in the problematic dataset?

Please check if your report's dataset has RLS applied.

If so, you must provide an effective identity for that dataset in the export request.
