Generating Power BI Reports from within ASP MVC Application

We are looking for a tool to generate reports from within an ASP MVC application. I'm wondering if it's possible to create Power BI report templates and either:

1 Have an api that we call and pass data to that will generate the report and return a link to the report, or

2. Have a link of some kind where we can pass an identifier to a specific report and generate a report in this way?

I'm a Power BI reports newbie so maybe this is not what the tool is designed for and there are better alternatives?
