Filter streaming dataset for "today", but without a calulated column?

Trying to get my streaming dashboard to show only records & measures for today only.

 

Normal way is to add a column tagging each row in DAX with Y/N depending on the data column value.

 

But it looks like streaming push datasets constructed programmatically can't do calculated columns. (wtf is that about?)

 

So I need another way to filter today only - what's the workaround here?
