Fabric capacity Metrics app

Hy Everyone, The one issue I am facing is that I have a fabric capacity metrics app installed in my tenant workspace configured by someone and I have incorporated capacity utilisation metrics in the power bi report but I want to publish the report in workspace but it is giving me an error in service stating that OLE DB or ODBC error. A connection could not be made to the datasource with the name of "protocol","analysis-service","address".

Can someone help me to get this error resolve please.

Please provide a more detailed explanation of what you are aiming to achieve. What have you tried and where are you stuck?

Hi, thanks for your reply .

Actually, I have prepared a power bi report using SharePoint as datasource but I have used second datasource as fabric capacity metrics app semantic model because I have to use some CU consumption details from it and I have them incorporated the required metrics in the existing report. Now we have used 2 datasources .. SharePoint (in which data is coming from power bi rest APIs) and fabric capacity metrics app semantic model in the same report and when I am trying to publish the report in power bi service it is giving me warning message "This semantic model contains calculated column and table that refer to the remote tables,which will result in refresh failures after publication".... And if anyways I am publishing it so again second popup I got in power bi desktop is the report was published but disconnected please refresh manually in the power bi service ... So I had tried to refresh it manually but it is giving me the error OLE DB or ODBC error. A connection could not be made to the datasource with the name of "protocol","analysis-service","address.

Thanks.

using SharePoint as datasource

A folder with .json files?

  • Yes

Apart from the capacity monitoring semantic model being glacially slow I can't see an issue yet. What's your join column?

The issue is with report refresh , any idea why I am getting the above mentioned error while publishing the report ? .. is there any pinpoint we need to keep in mind while using fabric capacity metrics app semantic model in our report?

That's a question for the product group. Based on their data model I am very sure that they have never even considered your use case.
