Is it possible to export data in excel from PowerBI Desktop app without saving them in a folder, i.e. to just open it directly in excel without having to save the file at a particular location when I click on a visual > export data> ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hello @Aniket04
Power BI Desktop does not have built-in feature to export data directly into an open Excel instance without saving it as a file first. When you export data from a visual in Power BI Desktop you are required to save the file to a specific location before opening it in Excel.
If you publish the report to Power BI Service, you can use the 'Analyze in Excel' feature, which allows you to connect Excel directly to the dataset:)
